Synaptojanin 1 [formerly known as synaptojanin] is an inositol 5-phosphatase which exists in two tissue specific isoforms (170 and 145kD). Synaptojanin is involved in clathrin-mediated endocytosis. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Additional info: This antibody is specific for the rat 145 and 170 KD proteins only. Species Crossreactivity: This antibody reacts with rat protein. It recognizes human protein very weakly. It does not react with any other species, including mouse.
