SODD (Silencer of Death Domain) is an important regulator of TNF induced apoptotic pathway. It associates with TNF-R1 to prevent constitutive activation of the signaling events downstream. It dissociates from the TNF-R1 after TNF binds TNF-R1 to allow the activation of apoptotic pathway. It is expressed ubiquitously in human tissues.
