MRP-8 and MRP-14 are cytosolic calcium-binding proteins of 8kD and 14kD that form a heterodimer. MRP-8 and MRP-14 are expressed in peripheral blood monocytes, neutrophils and keratinocytes (particularly in psoriasis). Expression is lost on tissue maturation of monocytes to macrophages. MRP-14 may be associated with monocyte and neutrophil activation and the accumulation of these cells in inflammatory sites. Altered expression of MRP8 is associated with the disease cystic fibrosis. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Neutrophil lysate, particularly neutrophils from spleen. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
