p38 MAP kinase is a mitogen-activated protein kinase that functions in various intracellular signaling cascades controlling cellular stress responses. p38 MAP kinase is activated by a variety of cellular stresses including osmotic shock, inflammatory cytokines, lipopolysaccharides (LPS), UV light and growth factors (1-3). MKK3 and SEK activate p38 MAP kinase by phosphorylation at adjacent threonine and tyrosine residues, Thr180 and Tyr182 (3,4). Activated p38 MAP kinase phosphorylates numerous downstream targets, including transcription factor ATF-2 (4).
Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 1:50,000
Immunohistochemistry: 1:100-250
Immunocytochemistry: 1:100-250
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Freeze at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
