Applications: ELISA Capture: Useful as a capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA for quantifying mouse IL-4 protein levels.1-4 Purified antibody should be paired with biotinylated antibody (Cat. No. I8426-04B) as the detection antibody, with purified recombinant mouse IL-4 as the standard. Immunofluorescence/Flow Cytometry: Useful for intracytoplasmic staining and flow cytometric analysis to identify and enumerate IL-4-positive cells within mixed cell populations. Recombinant mouse IL-4, unlabeled Rat IgG2b should be used as a specificity control. Western Blot: Useful for Western blot applications. For Western blotting, a concentration of 1-5ug/ml (in conjunction with AP-labeled Goat Anti-Rat-Ig) has been found to enable detection of (same/less than) 100ng/lane of recombinant mouse IL-4 under reducing conditions. Neutralization: The LE/AF form can be used for neutralizing mouse IL-4 bioactivity. A suitable LE/AF Rat IgG2b should be used as an isotype control. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20 degrees C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
