Molecular composition: [a1(III)]3 , native triple helix. Dissolved collagen retains the ability to form microfibrils, activate platelet aggregation and serve as a substrate for cell growth in culture Collagen was extracted from washed, dissected tissue into dilute acetic acid after mild pepsin treatment. Collagen type III was purified using differential salt precipitation. Contaminants: Contains >10% bovine collagen type I and >0.5% non-collagen proteins Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding 0.5M acetic acid and store at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C.

Form: Supplied as a lyophilized, purified protein. No preservatives added. Reconstitue with 0.5 M acedic acid (3% glacial acetic acid in water) to 1mg/ml. Material is dissolved when it appears homogeneous, with no schlieren pattern (light refraction due to differing protein concentrations in the suspension.)
Purity: (same/more than)90% by SDS-PAGE. Contains >10% bovine collagen type I and >0.5% non-collagen proteins.
