CD50 is a 120-140 kD type I membrane protein also known as intercellular adhesion molecule 3 (ICAM-3). It is broadly expressed on leukocytes, endothelial cells and Langerhans cells. CD50 is a member of the Ig superfamily. It provides costimulatory signal for T cells and regulates cell adhesion through interaction with LFA-1 (CD11a/CD18, aL/b2) integrin.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry and ELISA. Other applictions have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Immunohistochemistry: 0.5-1.25ug/ml. Can be used to stain both indirectly or directly acetone-fixed cryostat sections or cell smears.
Flow Cyotmetry: 1:20 for HL-60 cells. Can be used in a 2-step procedure using the biotin-(strept)avidin system.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
