Comparable to DH5 Alpha. Ideal for subcloning and generating cDNA libraries. Allows blue/white colour selection through alpha complementation of the beta-galactosidase gene - cells contain a lacZ marker. The cells are ideal for generating cDNA libraries and subcloning. Alpha-Select Competent Cells also provide recA1 and endA1 markers to minimise recombination and enhance the quality of plasmid DNA. As a positive control, pUC19 DNA is also provided. Efficiency: 1 x 10e7
