SOX proteins bind to DNA in a sequence specific manner and have a tissue specific expression. They play a vital role in transcriptional regulation during embryonic development, cell differentiation, chondrogenesis and cell fate determination. SOX6 consists of a C-terminal HMG-box DNA-binding domain and N-terminal coiled-coil domain and forms homodimers. It plays a critical role in neurogenesis, cellular aggregation, muscle & cartilage formation and chondrogenesis. It is co-expressed with L-SOX5 and SOX9 during chondrogenesis and co-operates with SOX9 in the transactivation of Col2aI, a chondrocyte marker gene. It represses Fgf-3 expression during embryogenesis and is involved in maintaining physiological functions of skeletal and cardiac muscle. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:100-1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
