SNF1LK2 (Sucrose non-fermenting 1 like kinase 2) also known as SIK2 (Salt-inducible kinase 2) is a cytoplasmic 125kD member of the CAMK Ser/Thr protein kinase family, AMPK subfamily of enzymes. It is expressed in preadipocytes/adipocytes, with levels strongly induced during early differentiation.SNF1LK2 regulates the early phase of insulin signaling by phosphorylating IRS-1 on Ser794.Human SNF1LK2 is 926 amino acids (aa) in length and contains a protein kinase domain (aa 20-271) with an ATP binding site (Lys49) and a catalytic loop (aa 140-149), followed by a phosphorylation activation site at Thr175, a UBA (ubiquitin-associated) domain (aa 295-335) and another PKA-dependent phosphorylation site at Ser587.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 1ug/ml
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
