SHIP1 (SH2-containing inositol phosphatase) is a member of the inositol polyphosphate-5- phosphatase (INPP5) family and contains an N-terminal SH2 domain, an inositol phosphatase domain, and two C-terminal protein interaction domains. SHIP2, a homolog of SHIP1, is highly expressed in heart, skeletal muscle and placenta (7). SHIP2 negatively regulates insulin signaling (8) and polymorphisms in SHIP2 have been linked to hyperglycemia (9). Recent studies also suggest SHIP2 as a therapeutic target for the treatment of both obesity and type 2 diabetes.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Immunofluorescence: 1:50
Flow Cytometry: 1:100
Western Blot: 1:1000
Immunoprecipitation: 1:25
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
