PSMA (prostate specific membrane antigen) is a type II integral membrane glycoprotein (1,2). It is highly expressed in the prostate epithelium, and also expressed in the small intestine, brain, kidney, liver, spleen, colon and the capillary endothelium of a variety of tumors. PSMA is expressed specifically in jejunum brush border membranes. In the brain, PSMA is highly expressed in the ventral striatum and brain stem. PSMA cytosolic isoform is the most abundant form in normal prostate tissue, while the membrane-bound PSMA-1 form is found in primary prostate tumors. Recent evidence has shown that PSMA is also expressed in tumor-associated neovasculature and may become an effective target for monoclonal antibody-based anti-neovasculature therapy (3).\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 0.1-1ug/ml\nWestern Blot: 1-3ug/ml\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
