Chromogranin A is a member of the chromogranin/secretogranin (granins) family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins. Chromogranin A (CgA) represents the major soluble protein co-stored and co-released with catecholamines, within chromaffin cells secretory granules. Chromogranin A is the precursor to several functional peptides including vasostatin, pancreastatin, catestatin and parastatin. It is considered a diagnostic and prognostic marker of several diseases, including a variety of tumors and cardiac heart failure.

Storage and Stability:
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
