The Trk family of tyrosine protein kinase receptors is responsible for mediating the trophic effects of the NGF family of neurotrophins. TrkC is mainly expressed in nervous tissue and is a functional receptor for neurotrophin 3 (NT3). Although it is primarily expressed in neural lineages, expression can also be detected in some non neural cells. Four forms of TrkC are produced by alternative splicing. Isoform A is full length TrkC. Isoform B differs from A between amino acids 529 to 612 and is missing amino acids 613 to 839. Isoform C of TrkC is missing amino acids 712 to 725. Isoform D is missing amino acids 402 to 410.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Western Blot: 1:100-1000
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 3 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
