Mouse SIGN-R1 is a C-type lectin that has been identified as a murine homologue of the human DC-SIGN related molecule, L-SIGN. Mouse SIGN-R1 is specifically expressed on marginal zone macrophages in the spleen, medullary and subcapsular sinus macrophages in the lymph nodes, and at lower levels on liver sinusoidal endothelial cells. SIGN-R1 has not been detected on murine dendritic cell populations. Like many C-type lectins, SIGN-R1 functions as a pathogen recognition receptor in vivo and plays an important role in defence against pathogens. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry (frozen). Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul Immunohistochemistry (frozen): 1:25-1:50 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: P3-X63-Ag8.563 myeloma cells with spleen cells from immunized rats. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
