SSTR5 is a Somatostatin Receptor. SSTR5 and dopamine type 2 receptors interact physically through heterooligomerization to create a novel receptor with enhanced functional activity (Rocheville et al., 2000). SSTR5 has been reported to be expressed in adrenal, aorta, brain, breast, eye, heart, pancreas, prostate, skeletal muscle, small intestine, and thyroid. ESTs have been isolated from cartilage libraries.
