RSK 1 (p90-RSK 1) is a member of a family of 90kDa ribosomal protein S6 kinases, which includes RSK 1, RSK 2 and RSK 3. These are broadly expressed serine/threonine protein kinases (1) activated in response to mitogenic stimuli, including extracellular signal-regulated protein kinases Erk1 and Erk2 (2). p90-RSK 1 is activated by MAPK in vitro and in vivo via phosphorylation (3). Active RSKs appear to play a major role in transcriptional regulation by translocating to the nucleus and phosphorylating c-Fos and CREB (2,4). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500 Immunocytochemistry: 1:100-1:250 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Manufactured incorporating RabMAb(R) technology under Epitomics US patents, No 5,675,063 and 7,429,487, owned by Abcam.
