Rb is a tumor suppressor nuclear phosphoprotein capable of binding to DNA. It is phosphorylated on serine and threonine, but not on tyrosine residues. It forms a complex with SV40 large T antigen, adenovirus E1A, and human papilloma virus-16 E. Rb protein may act by regulating transcription and loss of its function leads to uncontrolled cell growth. Aberrations in the RB gene have been implicated in cancers of breast, colon, prostate, kidney, nasopharynx, and leukemia. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
