The mammalian proto-oncogene Ras encodes 21kD proteins (p21Ras) which exists in either a physiologically quiescent GDP-binding state or a GTPbinding signal-emitting state. Interaction of p21Ras with GTPase activating protein (GAP) can increase hydrolysis of p21Ras-bound GTP by as much as 1000-fold. The product of the neurofibromatosis type 1 gene (NF1) has also been shown to exhibit p21Ras GAP activity. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-4ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 10-20ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 10-20ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
