p53 is a 50kD tumor suppressor found in increased amounts in a wide variety of transformed cells. It is frequently mutated or inactivated in many types of cancer. P1001-29M is suitable in the research of p53 tumor suppressor gene function and in the detection of p53 expression and/or mutations in clinical specimens. The antibody is applicable as a possible marker in differential diagnosis and prognosis of p53 positive versus p53 negative human tumors.
