ILT2, also known as LIR1, MIR7, and CD85j, is expressed on most monocytes, dendritic cells, and mature B cells. It is also expressed on small percentages of T cells and NK cells. ILT2 has four extracellular Ig-like domains and three cytoplasmic ITIMs. It functions as an inhibitory receptor that prevents cellular activation. ILT2 has been shown to bind classical (HLA-A and -B) and non-classical (HLA-G1, -E and -F) MHC class I molecules (MHC I). ILT2 also binds with high affinity to an MHC I paralog from human cytomegalovirus. Ligation of ILT2 by MHC I may function to poise cellular activation thresholds and inhibit various leukocyte effector mechanisms that are regulated by MHC I molecules on target cells.

Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions:
Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul to label 1x10e5 cells.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Carboxyfluorescein conjugates are sensitive to light.
