Human HtrA2 (also designated Omi) is a novel member of the HtrA serine protease family and is highly homologous to HtrA (also known as L56 and HtrA1). HtrA2 is ubiquitously expressed nuclear protease that is capable of autoproteolysis. The HtrA2 protein exists as two polypeptides of 38 and 40kD and as an alternatively spliced form called D-Omi, which is predominately expressed in the kidney, colon and thyroid. Like HtrA, HtrA2 is involved in the degradation aberrantly folded proteins during conditions of cellular stress, suggesting that it may possess a chaperone-like role under normal conditions. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunofluorescence: 20ug/ml Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
