Human GRO (also known as MGSA) promotes neutrophil chemotaxis and degranulation. It also stimulates mitogenesis in certain human melanoma cells. Human GRO is an 7.8kD protein containing 73 amino acid residues.
Source: E. coli
Form: Supplied as a liquid in 0.5X PBS, pH 7.2.
Stability: The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated below 0 degrees C. Reconstituted human GRO should be stored in working aliquots at -20 degrees C.
Purity: Greater than 98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analysis. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng perug of GRO.
Reconstitution: The lyophilized GRO is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. The lyophilized protein can be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 100 ng/microl. This solution can be diluted into water or other buffered solutions or stored in -20 degrees C for future use.
Biological Activity: The maximal chemotactic activity of human GRO on human neutrophils as assayed in a modified Boyden chamber was achieved at 50 ng/ml.
Responding Cells (partial list): Neutrophils, melanoma cells
Concentration Range for most in vitro applications: 5.0-50 ng/ml
