Endothelial lipase (EL) is a member of the triglyceride lipase gene family. It functions primarily as a phospholipase and has low triglyceride lipase activity. It was originally cloned from endothelial cells and found to be expressed in high level in the liver, placenta, lung, ovary, and macrophage. The wide spread distribution of this protein suggests it plays a general role in lipid metabolism. Human endothelial lipase has an estimated molecular weight of 57kD. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-4ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (Frozen and paraffin): 5-20ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
