CI-994 is a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor and induces histone hyperacetylation in living cells. CI-994 inhibited HDAC-1 and HDAC-2 but not the prototypical histone acetyltransferase GCN5. Melting Point: 235-242C Solubility: Soluble in DMSO at 66mg/ml; very poorly soluble in ethanol and water; maximum solubility in plain water is estimated to be about 25-100uM. Buffers, serum, or other additives may increase or decrease the aqueous solubility. Elemental Anaylsis: Calculated: C=66.90% H=5.61% N=15.60% Storage and Stability: May be stored at RT for short-term only. Long-term storage is recommended at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
