CD34 is a 110-120kD heavily O-glycosylated type I transmembrane glycoprotein. It is expressed on a small subpopulation (2-4%) of bone marrow cells including hematopoietic stem cells, small vessel endothelial cells and tumors of epithelial origin, and a subset of fibroblasts. It is believed that hematopoietc CD34 plays a role in modulating adhesion and as well as signal tranduction through its phosphorylation by activated protein kinase C. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow cytometry and Immunohistochemistry (frozen sections). Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 5ul/10e6 cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
