CD117, also known as c-kit, is a 145kD gkycoprotein that belongs to subclass III within the family of growth factor receptors with tyrosine kinase activity. It is found on 1-4% of bone marrow cells, the majority of which (50-70%) also express CD34 and comprise pluripotent hematopoietic progenitor cells. CD117 is also expressed on mast cells and acute myeloid leukemia cells. The interaction of CD117 with its counter-receptor, c-kit ligand (also known as stem cell growth factor, steel factor and mast cell growth factor), is crucial for the development of hematopoietic, gonadal and pigment stem cells. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: 20ul/10e6 cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4 degrees C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months at 4 degrees C. Freezing R-Phycoerythrin (PE) conjugates will result in a substantial loss of activity. PE conjugates are sensitive to light.
