CaMKII is a member of calcium/calmodulin-activated kinase, functioning in neural synaptic stimulation and T-cell receptor signaling. CaMKII has catalytic and regulatory domains. The binding of Ca++/calmodulin to its regulatory domain releases its autoinhibitory effect and activates the kinase. The activated CaMKII further autophosphorylates itself at Thr286 to render the kinase constitutively active. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
